Dish With Us

On The Wedding Dish

We want you to be our guest! Be our guest! Put our podcast to the test! (Is Beauty And The Beast playing in your head right now? Excellent.)

The Wedding Dish is all about connection, and there’s no better way to connect with you than to have you as our guest on the podcast.

You’ll be a killer guest on The Wedding Dish if you’re engaged, married and/or a wedding professional who is:

  • Open-minded and approachable. Our place isn’t to judge others for doing or not doing something at their wedding, and we hope you feel the same way.

  • Positive, but realistic. We want to be able to tell that you’re smiling as you talk, even though we can’t see you! Everything you share on the podcast doesn’t have to be happy (weddings can be stressful, after all) but we love talking with positive people.

  • Engaging. We love it when our guests dig deep into our interview prep materials so they can give thoughtful answers. This makes the conversation much more fun to be a part of, and for our listeners to tune into.

  • Willing to share. Weddings can be personal, but you’re willing to spill the tea on your big day or business in the spirit of helping your fellow human.

Sound like you? Sweet! We wanna dish with you on all things wedding — from planning your own big day, to tips you’d share with others who are planning their wedding.

“I was honored to be a guest on Sara’s great podcast and thoroughly enjoyed listening in as I prepped for our interview! [She is] so much fun and curious, with great questions to take you behind-the-scenes and learn from the pros!”

Questions About The Wedding Dish

+ Who hosts The Wedding Dish?

Sara Alepin is our lovely host at The Wedding Dish podcast. She’s a wedding photographer, married lady, and networking guru — the perfect combo for a wedding podcast host! Talking to Sara is like talking to your best friend, even if you’ve never met before. Learn more about Sara and the rest of our team on our About page.

+ Who do you interview on The Wedding Dish?

We talk weddings on The Wedding Dish, so our guests are anyone who has an interest in or experience with weddings and marriage. If you’re an engaged couple, newlywed couple, long-time married couple, or you work in the wedding industry, we’d love to dish with you on the show.

+ I’m a wedding vendor. Can I talk about my business on The Wedding Dish?

Yes, absolutely, though it’s important to note that being a guest on The Wedding Dish isn’t the same as being a sponsor. Our sponsors pay for air time to talk about how great their product or service is. Meanwhile, our guests join us to share wedding stories and tips. If you’re a wedding pro, we’ll absolutely end up talking about your business during the show, but it’ll be more of a value exchange and not a pitch for your business.

+ Who is your ideal guest on The Wedding Dish?

Great question! Our ideal guest is someone who is open-minded, positive (but realistic), engaging, and willing to share.

+ What type of content do you share on The Wedding Dish?

We like to share the stuff that no one talks about, that is hard to google, and the reality that is wedding planning. Sometimes that means family dynamics, sometimes it means unique ways to cut costs, or totally out-of-the-box celebrations. Our goal is to make wedding planning easier, more fun, and to let people know that they're not alone on this wild ride.

+ I got married 10+ years ago. Do you still want to interview me on The Wedding Dish?

Heck yes! Our show is about weddings, marriage, relationships… it doesn’t matter when you got married, you absolutely have insight to share with us.

+ What is podcasting like?

Podcasting is like having a virtual hangout with your best bud. And, like your best bud, we want you to feel super comfy on air with us. That’s why we’ll send you a list of interview questions before the show, a details about the episode so you can get a feel for the flow of things, and info about on how to log on to Zencastr, the platform we use to record.

+ Do I have to live in Washington, D.C. to be on The Wedding Dish?

Not at all! While The Wedding Dish team is based in Washington, D.C., we love dishing with lovebirds and wedding vendors all across the country (and the globe, honestly).

+ What equipment do I need to be able to podcast with you?

You will need a computer with high speed internet, a webcam, headphones (the one that came with your phone is totally fine) and a microphone. It’s a major bonus if you have an external microphone, like the one built into a pair of headphones, but it’s no problem if you don’t. You’ll also need to have a quiet space for recording.

+ I applied to be a guest speaker. What’s next?

Woo hoo! We’re so thrilled you’ve applied to be our guest on The Wedding Dish! Our team will follow up with you via email ASAP and, if we think you’re a good fit, will schedule a quick phone call to ask some questions and talk through a few details.
