Business Details
What areas do you serve?
Weddings, Corporate, special events- worldwide
Why did you decide to start your business?
We decided to start the band in 2016 after meeting one of our lead singers. We have a vocal coach friend who wanted to give her students a bit more exposure and time in front of an audience. My husband (Keyboardist and technical director of the band) reached out to a friend who had a venue and helped put together a small band to back the students. He came home after the first rehearsal and said, "I met someone who I believe needs to have a band put together for her." And so it began...
What's the coolest thing about owning your business?
There are several things that I love about having our own business. Watching the growth has been amazing! Getting to do what we truly love to do! I have such gratitude for all the members of this band.
What challenges have you had to overcome?
Starting any business can have its challenges. For a band, in the beginning, the challenge was to have someone give us a chance. :) If you don't have the experience, videos, photos, reviews - it's not easy to trust your special day to someone. We had some great agencies give us a shot, and some wonderful couples who were very happy that they too chose us. Other challenges: Standing out from other bands, having clients/couples understand the value of a band.
What advice could you offer to someone starting a business like yours?
It may not be easy to get it all started, but it's worth it. Network, connect with other vendors, planners, venues - build the relationships and find your niche. Always respond as quickly as possible, but definitely respond to each inquiry, you never know where it could lead.
